Emily Nelson is currently an anchor and investigative reporter at WTOL 11 in Toledo. Previously she was a freelance reporter for local news outlets including WDIV Local 4 in Detroit and WNEM TV5 in Flint/Saginaw, Michigan.  She has reported on a wide variety of topics across the nation from political scandals to human trafficking.

 

Emily started her career reporting at WFTX Fox 4 in Fort Myers, Florida where she covered several stories that received national attention.  Emily earned her Master of Science in Journalism with an emphasis in broadcast from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism.  While at Medill she served as the political reporter from Washington D.C. for local news affiliates including WKBN First News 27 in Youngstown, Ohio and KVRR in Fargo, North Dakota.  She also holds an MBA from Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management.
