Prior to her journalism career, Emily worked at GE Capital where she started off in a sales leadership program. After working at GE for seven years with roles of increasing responsibility including her last role as Vice President & Account Manager, and completing her Master in Business Administration at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management part-time while working, Emily quit her corporate job to follow her passion for journalism.

 

She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The Ohio State University where she received an academic scholarship all four years and was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority and Pi Sigma Epsilon business fraternity. She also completed a quarter abroad at the Audencia School of Management in Nantes, France. In addition, she completed the Global Initiatives in Management program in South Africa.

 

Emily is active in the civic community and is a member of the Junior League and has served on the junior board of the Children's Hospital in Chicago.
